Ms Dludla is a qualified teacher and taught at schools in KwaZulu-Natal, and worked as a lecturer at the Esikhawini College of Education in Empangeni before she was appointed by the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Education as Deputy Chief Education Specialist: Teaching and Learning at the Further Education and Training (FET) Unit at the Empangeni District Office. She later joined the University of Zululand’s Department of Education as a contract lecturer, and at the completion of her term joined Akhona Trade & Industry (Akhona) as CEO.

Dludla was a founding member of Akhona, a group which was established in 1996 in Durban for women groups to transform stokvels into a long-term saving organisation. It later spread its wings across KwaZulu-Natal, the Free State and parts of Gauteng. At the outset she was tasked to identify potential shareholders in Northern Zululand and worked with parastatals such as Portnet in Richards Bay to mobilise members. Dludla set up workshops to recruit business partners: people working in financial institutions, accountants, and others responsible for social upliftment of the marginalised customers. 

Dludla became the regional co-ordinator for Akhona, organising and staging roadshows which exposed potential clients to the objectives of unleashing the economic power of rural women. Within a short time more than ten groups became shareholders. After the company was registered, she was appointed as Regional Director, responsible for educating women on financial issues and assisting Akhona in growing numbers and sourcing additional investments. She assisted members who owned small enterprises in the field of fashion and confectionary, among others, in the Empangeni region. In 2016, Dludla became Akhona Trade and Industry’s CEO. She serves on the Boards of several of the subsidiary Akhona companies, and is also a Trustee in the Akhona Governing Body Trust.

Dludla has had wide exposure over the years to accountants, auditors, tax consultants, legal advisors and other experts to ensure that Akhona is fully compliant. She has also built a valuable and high-profile network in her dealings with financial institutions, investors and companies Akhona invests in.

She received a B.Sc. Home Economics degree from the University of KwaZulu-Natal (formerly University of Natal), and B.Sc. Home Economics Honours from the University of Zululand. She holds a Certificate in Adult Basic Education from Unisa, and a Certificate in Teaching English in Secondary schools across the spectrum from the Thames Valley University (London). In addition, she holds a M Soc. Sc in Resource Management from the University of KwaZulu-Natal. She also obtained qualifications in Theology and Project Management.

She enjoys reading spiritual literature, public speaking and preaching the Gospel. She writes books and stories, and loves listening to music. She cooks, bakes and sews, and specialises in soft furnishings… and then she still makes time for jogging.
